6th Grade
The 6th graders have a program that is specifically tailored for them! Over the course of the year students will bond and form deeper friendships that will last for years to come. The heart of the program is the 6th grade Sunday School class which is taught by a team of teachers. This team does a wonderful job coming alongside students and making the class thoughtful, safe, and fun.
In addition to the Sunday School class there will be a variety of activities and excursions for just them! In the past, the class has done things like: rock climbing, batting cages, carving pumpkins, a day trip to the lake, and enjoying food together. It is a ton of fun!
“Why does 6th Grade have a separate program?”
The answer is multifaceted. For many students the transition to middle school can be quite difficult as the physical and emotional development of a 10 or 11-year-old is substantially different from their 8th grade schoolmates. Our desire is for a 6th grader to continue their church involvement in many of the same ways they already have been. Sunday school and church-wide activities are great places for them to connect. In addition, we hope that by waiting until 7th grade to join Youth Group, their anticipation and excitement grow to hopefully provide for long-term participation.
