  • We livestream the 8:30 a.m. service. A recorded version will be available to watch any time after that.

Dear Covenant Presbyterian Family,

On behalf of the entire Session I want to thank you for your patience over the last year as we have been required to wear masks and keep distance between one another in our gathered worship and various church functions. Thank you also for your continued commitment to our Lord and his people during these challenging circumstances.

We are pleased that Virginia’s Governor is following the new guidelines from the CDC concerning masking and social distancing. In light of these new guidelines, beginning Sunday, May 30 Covenant Presbyterian Church will no longer require masking in any of our worship services or church functions. Also, given that the social distancing guidelines will be lifted on May 28 we will no longer ask you to pre-register for worship services.

Certainly, you may continue to wear a mask in our services if you are concerned about your health. Also, parents of young ones, it is not our desire to usurp your role in the lives of your children. In regard to your children wearing masks, please use your best judgement guided by conscience. We trust you to do what is best for your children.

Through all of this, let us give one another the benefit of the doubt. We will not all agree completely on what are the proper applications of the CDC’s guidelines or what the best practices are in the current moment. But let us assume the best about our brothers and sisters and endeavor to be patient with one another.

Again, thank you for your patience in these days. It has always been the desire of the Session to honor God, serve you, and fulfill our responsibilities to the civil authorities. It has not always been entirely clear how best to do that. But we trust that our Lord has gently guided us and will continue to do so.

Yours in Christ, Pastor Todd on behalf of the Session
